9.2 seconds: Wayne Rooney is as fast as Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United vs Arsenal)

Last weekend in the Premier League, Manchester United hammered a significant nail in Arsenal’s championship coffin when Sir Alex Ferguson’s troops staged arguably their performance of the season winning 3-1 away at the Emirates. After getting their noses in front of the Gunners, United went on the claim a stunning, counter-attacking second. From a loose Arsenal corner, the Red Devils, spearheaded by Wayne Rooney, broke upfield, and after Nani had carried the ball 60-yards Rooney was on hand to finish the move which he had started on the edge of his own box.
That goal brought back instant memories of Cristiano Ronaldo’s breathtaking goal at the Emirates during last season’s Champions League semi-final, and in side-by-side comparison Sky Sports went about investigating which of Rooney’s and Ronaldo’s goals were quicker counter-attacking moves.
